The water calls us. The way the light dances on the water. It is a place I am happiest. I smile at the sun and the sun smiles back on the surface of the water. Peace can be found on the shore listening to the waves. Marvel at it's beauty. Wonder what exists beyond what your eyes can see. When I am weary, the water restores me. Just take off your shoes and put your feet in the water. It is healing, it is home. I think the closest thing we have to seeing God is looking out on the water. Heaven is there, dancing on the waves, blowing in the breeze, stretching out endlessly before you.
My greatest childhood memories were camping by the lakes in Maine. The sound of the water lapping gently onto the lakeside. It was a whole different world. Then I remember my babies at the beach when we lived in Florida. Building sand castles, collecting shells and sharks teeth. Eating sandwiches out of paper on a beach blanket. Sitting at the edge of water and letting the waves crash over their heads and screaming into the wind. They are adults now and these are still some of their favorite memories. What are your favorite memories of summertime?
